PASSWORD:DECO is an interactive, multidisciplinary art installation that features a ‘mixed media/mixed reality’ art gallery and VR video experience. Using various forms of XR (Extended Reality), visual art and video projections, guests at The XR Speakeasy will enjoy a collection of experiences through art and technology.
Drawing on the theme of FUTURE DECO, The XR Speakeasy invites inspiration from the past and future.
The Gallery features original painted works by Edmonton artist Jai Tanninen. Guests can bring the art to life with an Augmented Reality app as they make their way through the installation, or simply experience it in the physical realm.
The VR Space allows users to enter another world (or two). Evan Pearce (Notfortheireyes) has created a virtual landscape to ‘move through’ via VR Headset - a surrealist Future Deco universe. Enjoy the visual experience by watching projections of the video, or submerge into the visceral 360 land behind the goggles.

Evan Pearce is a VJ, New Media Artist, Creative Director and Producer from Edmonton, Alberta. Using a collaboration of live editing and projection mapping, Evan manipulates content to cultivate a generative, displaced and distorted sense of reality for the audience.
JAI TANNINEN
Jai is an Edmonton-based artist whose work explores the many connections between image and meaning and the formal aspects of colour and composition in image making. He imagines a world where, while the artist acts from their own experiences, the viewer can establish their own connections between themselves, the artist, and the world around them - where they can reflect on the effects and value of experiences and the systems by which we represent them.
MAGIC HOUR CREATIVE
Magic Hour is an Edmonton-based creative duo. Caitlin Varrin heads up project management and digital direction; Craig Knox specializes in camerawork. The team works primarily with local small businesses and artists to tell stories through a variety of visual and digital media platforms.
